Cute homey little place that has the best service and probably the best food on the main street on Mackinac. The hostess and waitress were very friendly. There was a slight wait for a table, but not too long. The fish was excellent and so are their lunch specials, I would take advantage of that because you won't be able to find much else for $8-9. Portions were a bit small, but maybe that's because I'm a Chicagoan and we're used to huge portions here. Overall, great experience here.

Nice atmosphere and décor. Service was good but food ok but not great. Had to send back beef sandwich special. Exchanged with burger which was good.
(2)Phil T.
Not a great experience but not a disaster either. Our blue cheese truffle fries were really just fries with blue cheese dressing on the side. If there was truffle oil, I couldn't taste it. Our white fish chowder was cold and tasted like it easily could have been from a can. The grilled cheese off the kids menu was just american cheese. The best thing was the salad which came with tasty bread.
(2)Katie P.
Great lunch and great service. The whole family enjoyed the experience. Will come back! Homemade chicken salad was tops.
(5)Michael M.
Too much money for mediocre lunch. Fries were good, whitefish poorboy special only so- so, Cobb salad below average. No return trip here for us. Maybe dinner is better.
(2)Ross K.
The food was good and well-priced for the island. It wasn't our best meal, but it wasn't bad. The portion sizes were very good. My wife and I each got a bowl of soup and easily split a sandwich. A good choice for lunch. The only downside is that we were there towards the end of October, I think this particular place was on their last day or two. They much have been expecting to not be busy because they only had one server staffed and a manager that was helping out being that the place was full. They didn't handle the rush well, our server (the manager) refilled one of our drinks and put it on a different table. The server that was there looked completely frazzled to the point I felt bad for eating there. Despite all of that we were able to enjoy our meal and would go back if we return to the island.
(3)Jo L.
A solid choice and decent prices for the Island. I enjoyed the "light side whitefish" - a filet of whitefish prepared well with a large portion of green salad. Good selection of beers; wine choices were expensive for what they had. Friendly service.
(3)David L.
The staff was very friendly. Bob, our server, was very attentive and worked hard to meet our needs. The prime rib special was better than I expected. The vegetables with it were perfect.
(5)R J.
Millie's is about the best you can get for lunch here on the Island...reasonably priced, excellent quality, whether you get a burger, sandwich, corned beef is the best!
(5)Jon G.
My wife and I decided to have lunch here at the end of June. While the place was fairly full we ended up getting a seat right away. The location in the center of downtown right across from the Arnold Line Ferry ensures that this place is one of the first places that people see when they get off the boat. The friendly wait staff was knowledgeable and efficient. I never got to the end of my Coke. I had the fried whitefish with fries and it was great. The fish was seasoned and fried to perfection and the large portion of fries were the best fries that I had on our vacation. Their beer selections were good and their menu was all encompassing as well. The menu consisted of food that you would expect from a Northern Michigan restaurant. I think I saw a pastie on there as well. We definitely will try this restaurant again.
(4)S M.
This was good. Only giving it a 4 star because the menu was sparse. Our waitress was sweet and the food was good.
(4)Len M.
Best steak sandwich I every had.

We stopped at Millie's on a brisk weekday morning in October -- a time when many things have closed on the Island for the season. Millie's was warm and inviting, and packed with a lunchtime crowd that seemed to be made up of both tourists and locals. It is a pub, but is family-friendly and the server seated us quickly at a comfortable table that accommodated a high chair for my toddler niece. Since I haven't been back to my native Michigan in a while, I was making an effort to order local cuisine. The bratwurst and kraut were tempting, but I had to go with the beef pasty and gravy. It didn't disappoint! Delicious beef, potato, onion, and rutabaga in a pie crust enclosure, topped with thick, salty beef gravy. Yum. The service was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend Millie's if you are on the Island and needing a fill-up that won't break the bank. Most specials were in the $6-7 range.
(4)Palmer W.
We ventured to Millie's on Main in search of a pastie. My girlfriend desperately wanted one, and she was not disappointed in Millie's. We started with an order of the homemade chips with French Onion dip, and they were spectacular. My girlfriend then received he pastie. She was in love. I had decided on the Whitefish, you can't visit an island with having seafood, after all. It was perfectly cooked, lightly breaded, and expertly seasoned. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere friendly, and the experience was perfect. I'd recommend Millie's on Main to anyone visiting Mackinac in the near future.
(5)Brian R.
A nice place. The menu isn't spectacular, but it is reliable. What you order won't be showy, but the food quality is good, the service is nice, and the bar pours reasonably well. After a day of biking, ducking horses, and overdosing on fudge, can you ask for a lot more?
(4)Jerson J.
Fish n chips just not enough portion for the price. Taste is okay.
(3)Brian S.
Excellent! Great Moscow mule and Caesar salad. You definitely need to order the perch because it is amazing!
(5)Tom R.
Good food, nice presentation. Heather gave us exceptional service would definitely ask for her when we come back. We had the rack of ribs and the strip steak, would recommend both. The strip steak was cooked perfectly to the medium rare we requested and the ribs had a wonderfully tangy flavorful sauce complimented by their char grilled finish. With the ribs was an exceptional medley of stir fried peas onions and zucchini .. This place has the character of a nice bar restaurant but the food was better. It was the best meal I had on the island. I had numerous meals at different restaurants on the Island but in addition to good food and great service this was the only place that really was a value as well. I'm not saying it was cheap but its pricing was fair and definitely lower than many of the mediocre and poor performance of many of the other experiences on the island this place really was a top performer.
(4)Luke V.
My kids always ask to visit here every time we come to the island. They have good food at reasonable prices and it is a place that is great for families.
(4)Matt M.
The food and atmosphere were OK. The waitress was not friendly and looked unprofessional/scary. She never smiled once. She frequently walked by our empty drinks too
(3)Rick D.
Great atmosphere and good food. Everyone was pleased. Get there early enough to avoid a wait. Small like most places there. We sat at the bar with my son which they allowed and got great service from the bartender. Would visit this place again.
(4)Megan K.
We ate supper here. The food was good with reasonable prices for the island. We would probably go back if on the island again.
(4)Stacy C.
Cozy atmosphere, restaurant with bar. Decor is cute and really enjoyed service. Host/bartender was in top of it. Sat is right away and bussed our tables. Nice to have such great customer service. Our waitress was also very sweet and had many suggestions. Try the widow maker black beer, it's unique in flavor. The apple crisp was delicious. The fudge brownie sundae was HUGE. You could easily share with multiple people.
(4)A W.
Had lunch at Millie's with my husband and 14 month old baby. The fish and chips were delicious. Palmer described them perfectly in his review. My husband had the burger and thoroughly enjoyed it. I got the peach cobbler for dessert and it was AMAZING. Good service and atmosphere. I would certainly recommend Millie's to anyone visiting the island.
(4)Nick K.
Food was excellent! We started with the fried green beans, which were awesome. We had the walleye special and the perch. Walleye was very good, but a little to much sauce. Perch was also very good, but slightly too salty. For dessert we had the apple crisp and brownie. The apple crisp was AMAZING! They have this home made whip that just tips it off...haha! It is pricey but worth it. Would definitely go back. Our waiter Bob was fabulous!
(4)Mike T.
Ate dinner here- veggie burger and spinach and artichoke dip. Food was very good. Service was friendly and prompt. I will eat here again.
(4)Joseph G.
My wife and I ate dinner here our first night on Mackinac Island. The food was good, the portions of meat loaf was very generous, and the bartender had a friendly personality. My only complaint was I asked for the included vegetables in a side dish and I was surprisingly charged an extra $2.75 for this. I thought that was pretty chicken s**t to add that charge without notice. Because of that extra charge we didn't return for future meals during our two-day stay. I felt that charge was taking advantage of a tourist. Too bad because the food and service was good.
(3)Ev E.
My husband and ate here last night. He had the yooper beef pasty and I had the crowder and Neptune pasta. He said it was okay and mine was okay going down. I got seriously sick 30 mins afterwards. I barely made it to the hotel. Skip the seafood here!! It will ruin your vacation.
(1)K W.
Had a great reuben here after a day of biking the island. However I wouldn't recommend the mac & cheese which was overpriced and overcooked.
(4)Reggie S.
Not sure why the good reviews. I had pastie and was told it was made there. Tasted frozen. Wife had the pasta and chicken special. Greasy and nasty. Would not go back
(1)Wen B.
Had the White Fish Chowder and it was really delicious. It was creamy, not too salty, and had been heated properly (not microwaved). The fish tacos were excellent. Although they were a little light on toppings the very large and well seasoned pieces of fish made up for it. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. We didn't wait long once we sat down and our drinks were always full. I would definitely recommend this place.
(5)Susan M.
Lovely meal and relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend this for a nice dinner out. I had a grilled pork chop with garlic mashed potatoes and interesting side veggies that really complimented the cherry brandy sauce on the pork. My friend had the mushroom pasta primavera. She also enjoyed the dish.
(5)Stephanie M.
My reception on the Island was really bad so I stopped by the Tourist Kiosk on Main Street to ask where is a good place for lunch. The girl there said to go down the street to this place, and she was right. The burger here is superb! And the service, amazing! Karen was my server and she was the nicest person in the whole wide world. I was dining by myself and she came over and checked in on me to make sure I was ok. She made me feel so welcome in this establishment! The food was delicious too which is another "A" in my books. I had the Olive Burger and substituted the chips with fries. It costed more but it was worth it! Those fries were fresh, hot, and crispy! Just the way I like them! None of that soggy, overly greasy fries that's been kept warm under a lamp. No. These were hot out of the fryer. Now the best part of the meal: the burger. Get ready to drool. The juicy burger was nestled with strips of thick cut bacon, tomato, lettuce, and an olive mayo sauce in between fluffy cloud-like brioche (i think). I'm pretty sure it was brioche because it was too buttery to be an average bun you find at the store. Due to the restricting belt I was wearing, I was unable to finish my entire meal (which probably is better for me in the long run). That combo was a melt in your mouth burger perfection! The restaurant is super easy to find! It is right in the heart of the city, where most of the ferries from the mainland would dock, and on the same row as the shops. So if you're up in Norhern Michigan looking for a bite to eat, check this place out. You won't be disappointed.
(4)Jeremy C.
We had a full rack of BBQ ribs. They were 5/5 stars. We also had the pirogi appetizer...best i've had. We'll be back if we're on this island again for some odd reason. I'm 35 years old and I was probably half the average age -- In other words, this island is great if you have kids, or you're 100. Very good restaurant. Excellent server.
(5)Amy C.
Good food, reasonably priced. The meatloaf was really good. Get a window table. Our waitress was very attentive. Right in the middle of the action.
(4)Justin P.
When you're on the island, they've got you. You can't get off. You're paying whatever they ask of you. They can price gouge all they want because what are you going to do, swim back to the fiscally welcoming shores of mainland Michigan for lunch? This was my mindset entering Millie's. We're going to pay Ruth Chris Steakhouse money for Applebee's-level microwaveable food. I left feeling very impressed. The lime chicken wings were a perfect appetizer, they make a great Dark and Stormy, my wife's whitefish chowder was great, and our entrees were very good. I had the daily special (Teriyaki steak) and, Bob, our waiter, was honest in his description, saying "it's not our best cut of beef (hence the price), but the flavoring is great." Personally, I had no problem with the cut of meat either. My wife had the rosemary and olive oil chicken, which my 4 year old daughter exclaimed "This tastes like our (rosemary and olive oil) Triscuits!" From her, that was a compliment of the highest order. Is it a bit expensive? Sure, but it's on a frickin' island. You can't help that. Also, the quality backs it up.
(4)Kelly B.
A cozy bar with nice options for dinner, especially considering the "mid range" priced alternatives. The kids menu had at least 6 options, including the real deal of Kraft Mac-N-Cheese for those picky eaters. I had a grilled chicken salad with blue cheese, cakes and cherry tomatoes- a solid salad with mixed greens. The fried fish was good but the creamy coleslaw was crisp and by far the best we had on the island. Family of 4 = ~$50 with no alcoholic beverages.
(3)Linda L.
Very cozy nice restaurant right in the middle of main street in Mackinac Island. The service was sweet and kind. The menu was pretty good with a mix of soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees. We had a bowl of the Whitefish chowder, the Daily special of islander beef and cheddar sandwich, and a yooper Beef pastie. The chowder was very flavorful and rich. The sandwich, which had thin sliced prime rib, was juicy and tender. It had onions and mushrooms inside. It came with a side of homemade kettle chips. My pastie was very unique. It was like meatloaf wrapped in a pastry, loaded with gravy. The gravy was delicious. Without the sauce, it's a bit dry. The carrots and potatoes inside was diced small and very good. They had a good draft beer menu too but we were so full from food we didn't have room.
(4)Cheryl S.
First time here, in a tip from a carriage driver. I had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes and Cole slaw....it was very good......it was a hard decision to make. Nice menu. Staff very friendly and helpful with the menu. Everything I saw come from the kitchen looked good. Don't think you can go wrong. .

When it's time for the family to eat you have few choices on the island. BUT this place is a great choice for a family. Nice and airy inside food choices were ample and sounded good. Service was fast and friendly. Our group ordered burgers, fish and chips and whitefish. Burgers were cooked properly and juicy. Fresh ingredients on top. Homemade chips on the side. Fish and chips were battered and cooked nicely. Good flavor and fries were good. Unplanked whitefish was fresh. No fishy smell and cooked to perfection. Nicely seasoned. Really enjoyed it. Duchess potatoes were fluffy and a nice side. Also had zucchini and summer squash as veggie. Nicely prepared. Also had the whitefish chowder and it was hot with plenty of fish and potatoes. Great place for kids and nice cold drinks. Would definitely come back here.
(4)Anne P.
Awesome food- quick service at the bar! Excellent whitefish chowder!! Next to Carriage Tours (purchase ticket from Starline Hydro Ferry) Recommend turning in carriage tickets prior to lunch - then they are ready for you after lunch!
(5)Diane B.
Stop here. Come young, come old! Service is fast, and kind. Food tastes great, comes quick and decent portions for the price. Can't go wrong with this place!
(4)Matt C.
Millie's consistently has very good food. We have been there for lunch and dinner many times. The perch is very good. We've also had the burger as well and found it to be very good. The service is quick and attentive. In our last visit we tried the pierogis, which were good, but a bit too cheesy. The French onion soup is good as we've enjoyed it many times. Their are many similar bars along this stretch of Main Street, but after trying them all, this one has the best food combined with a nice atmosphere.
(4)Christine R.
We took the kids to the island for a day trip on the hottest day of the summer. Thankfully, this restaurant has air conditioning and we were seated immediately by a very friendly hostess. The booths are roomy and private and our server took our drink order as soon as we were seated. The prices are a bit high, but the food is good, the service is fast and friendly and the island is a tourist attraction. Truffle fries : expensive but I was curious. They were hot and crispy shoestring fries and came with a side of blue cheese dressing. Turkey burger : tender, juicy and lightly seasoned on a soft Brioche bun with fresh lettuce and tomato. Yum! Kraft Mac and cheese: I mean....it's Kraft Mac and cheese. Grilled cheese sandwich : for the sake of this review, my son let me sample his grilled cheese and it was really good. Way to go, kiddo. Bacon cheeseburger : not to be upstaged by a kid, my husband let me give this a taste. It was yummy. Good bacon and what appeared to be a handmade patty that was juicy. Also, the pickles were tasty.

For lunch on the Island, the GF's family and I decided to head to Millie's on Main for breakfast. Unfortunately, we realized they don't serve that meal of the day, so we waited a few minutes for lunch service to start (woke up a bit late that morning!). The interior was nicely spacious and reminiscent of a pub. Green Bean Fries ($6.99) We started off the morning with some green bean fries which were great. They were perfectly fried and crispy without being greasy. It came with a nicely piquant horseradish sauce to temper the fried texture of the green beans. Grilled Club Deluxe ($10.99) All natural ham, turkey, Plith's bacon, Swiss, American, lettuce, tomato, red pepper mayo The GF went with the grilled club deluxe which had fresh ingredients and plenty of them. So of course, she could only finish half of it, but luckily the belly of this pig was there to save the day. The mayo and crisp bacon made this sandwich. The homemade chips were money as well. Beef Pastie ($12.99) Seasoned beef, carrot, onions, potatoes Apparently pasties are a big thing "Up North." So of course, I had to go with this dish. I wish I hadn't. Either I'm just not a fan of pasties in general or this one was poorly executed, but the pastie did not have a crispy outer pastry. It had more of a doughy exterior. This was especially surprising since the innards were creamy - pretty one note in terms of texture. The innards were somewhat seasoned, but the potatoes, carrots, and beef definitely needed the thick pepper gravy. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish the pastie. And the coleslaw was an afterthought. Disappointing. I would definitely come back to Millie's on Main for the green bean fries, the club, or a drink. But I definitely wasn't a fan of the pastie though I would probably give the dish another try from a different source.
(3)Brooke F.
Best meal and service we have had on Mackinac Island. I had the rosemary lemon chicken with rice and vegetables and it was delicious. My husband had the steak and angel hair pasta special, which was also delicious. We will definitely be going back! Great place for drinks and a great meal.
(5)Carlos F.
Turkey bacon burger! Yum, the space here is pretty tight but the pita chips and hummus appetizer and the burger I had were really good, juicy and the service was attentive and responsive despite having a packed house!
(4)Ritika K.
This restaurant is conveniently located on the main street and the decor and service is very nice. We ordered chicken wings and spinach artichoke dip for appetizer and it was good. I had meatloaf for my entrée and it was very dry. We also ordered Bloody Mary's and they were just okay. Service and ambience deserves 5 stars but unfortunately the food does not live up to the expectations.
(3)C.D. K.
The reviewers are right. Cozy. Quiet. Great service. Had fresh lightly fried perch with caper sauce and mashed potatoes. Tiny julienned veg lightly sauced. Curry in there? Yum! Perch so good. Not overpriced.
(4)Kevin B.
Fantastic food with good service. My wife got the prime rib and I got the baby back ribs. Both were excellent. Best meal that we had during our trip to Mackinac Island
(5)Mark B.
This place was okay but I didn't have the great food or experience others have reported on yelp. Best part of the meal was the whitefish dip appetizer. Also got the truffle blue cheese fries appetizer, it was just fries with blue cheese dressing on the side, and I guess the blue cheese sauce had a hint of truffle flavor, but nothing special. I got the perch which was recommended but arrived burnt. My wife got whitefish basket, which is their fish and chips with the famous Michigan whitefish. Mediocre, esp compared all the places here that serve much better and fresher whitefish. Server and host seemed a little confused by the demands of a restaurant job, which made service a bit slow and disappointing. I really wanted to like this place but just couldn't.
(3)Mitchell E.
The whitefish was great but a little greasy, my wife didn't like the grilled chicken salad. Amazing appetizers, would get 4 stars if it wasn't for the salad. Kind, quick service.
(3)Carrie G.
Great Irish coffee. I ordered the hummus which is pretty good with their homemade chips. Garlicky and yummie. Friends said the seafood dip was good also.
(4)Lindsay M.
If you're hungry and need to eat, this will suffice. The food is nothing special. Reasonably priced, cool interior, right on main street. Drinks and appetizers were decent, but the meal was mediocre at best.
(2)Cherry W.
One of our go-to places for a good lunch or dinner. Warm, cozy atmosphere and good service too. A plus when we ate there last night...was end of season and all beer was $2!
(4)Eric W.
Great sandwiches. Good cool spot to take a load off and have a cold beer. Fresh sandwiches are plenty big.
(5)Maggie M.
Had the most unbelievable dinner here! I see the other ratings that are subpar and wonder if I are at the same restaurant! Seriously incredible meals. We came on a Friday night as a party of 8. We enjoyed truffle fries (which were awesome but the cheese dip lacked flavor) and bruschetta. By far the best meal ordered was the meatloaf with a close second of the meat pasty. Definitely a great place to go.
(5)Kevin R.
Fantastic food! Neptune's pasta is delicious and I ordered it without the cream. It was phenomenal! Service was great. My family ate here all three days of race week.
(5)Etta S.
We had a reservation and went straight to our table. The food comes QUICK and is beautiful and everything we had was good. The menu is varied but does not have an abundance of vegetarian options. Friendly waiter and environment. As a table we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, bruschetta, 2 different white fish dishes and the veggie burger.
(4)Sarah S.
We arrived on the island around 9pm and were absolutely starving. We ordered the waitress's recommendations and were not disappointed. Had the bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer and the whitefish chowder. We shared the grilled whitefish, which was a huge portion. Everything tasted great, and we were both stuffed by the end of the meal.
(4)Mister O.
Good food and good service. Our table enjoyed the wings, white fish chowder, French onion soup, ribs and pasta with Alfredo. We thought the sliders had too much fennel.
(4)Linda N.
A quiet alternative to Main Street dining. Staff was great and the meatloaf sliders ... Amazing
(5)John N.
Best chicken salad sandwich I have ever eaten. Highly recommended. Wish more beer was on tap. Only 3 beers on tap.
